We design for resonance. Recognition is a side effect.

There's a meaningful difference between a brand that people notice and a brand that people remember because it felt true.

The Method

Most brand processes start with what looks good. Ours starts with what is true.

Before we open a design file, we want to understand the psychological and emotional architecture of your brand — the instinctual drives that shape how your particular audience sees, feels, and decides. We use a proprietary diagnostic framework that draws on seasonal color psychology, Jungian depth theory, and what we've come to call instinctual brand theory: a way of understanding why some brands feel immediately right, and others feel perpetually off, even when they're well-executed.

Seasonal color psychology — developed from the foundational work of Johannes Itten and extended through contemporary practice — holds that color, texture, and visual language carry an emotional temperature that audiences register before they can articulate it. We extend this framework by understanding instinctual subtypes: the drives that determine whether a brand should feel intimate and quiet, magnetic and bold, or warm and communal. When these layers are in alignment, the result isn't just a beautiful brand. It's an accurate one.

This is the work beneath the work. And it's what makes the visible work matter.

The Studio

ZYKR Brand Atelier is a boutique studio founded on the belief that brand identity is one of the most consequential decisions a creative business makes — and one of the most frequently treated as an afterthought.

We are based in Norman, Oklahoma, with a remote-first practice that has served clients in Oklahoma City, Chicago, Portland, and Mexico. Our work spans hospitality, wellness, coaching, lifestyle, and the arts. Our clients are not brands looking for a visual refresh. They are founders and practitioners who are ready to be seen with precision.

We take on a limited number of projects at a time. This is intentional. The work we do is attended to.

Sterlin Mosley
Creative Director

Dr. Sterlin Mosley is a brand strategist, creative director, and researcher whose work sits at the intersection of psychology, aesthetics, and meaning-making. He holds a faculty position at the University of Oklahoma and leads Zykr's client work, design direction, and diagnostic process.

His approach to brand identity is rooted in a conviction that most brands are visually underdressed for the depth of what they're actually offering — and that the right visual language, developed from the inside out, changes how a brand is felt before it's even consciously processed.

Sterlin is also co-founder of Empathy Architects, an Enneagram coaching and teacher certification organization whose research into personality psychology and instinctual drives informs Zykr's proprietary diagnostic methodology directly.

Aaron Addonizio
Design Director
